The Real Story for Japanese Real Estate is Asian Buyers
When I started out writing about real estate in Japan, the focus on English language content about Japanese real estate was important. As an American, I assumed I would be providing information about real estate in Japan for buyers from the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe. What I discovered was English-language content about real estate in Japan is read by buyers and investors from Asian countries as much - if not more - than anywhere else.
It has been a few months now, but I wrote a piece about Asian Investors Buying Real Estate In Hokkaido for H2 Christies.
“It is partly because Japan is relatively close to its Asian neighbors that tourism also brings visitors (many of which are affluent) to Hokkaido. What often begins as vacation, can develop into a longing to spend more time in Hokkaido and offers more exposure to investment opportunities.”
I could provide many more examples from my own experience as a real estate consultant, as well as from my research into the books and writing from other experts.
As I expand my work on this topic, I imagine this topic deserves it’s own piece.
